On the occasion of World Kidney Day, on March 13 and 14, a free preventive kidney health check was successfully held. The tests were conducted from 9 am to 1 pm, at Municipal Spiritual Center of Kalamata, offering citizens the opportunity to preventively check their kidney function.
The blood sampling was performed by the specialized medical staff of Falireas Medical laboratories, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the results. Participants had the opportunity to be informed about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
This initiative aimed to raise public awareness about kidney diseases and preventive medicine, reinforcing the idea that early diagnosis can help prevent serious complications and improve citizens’ quality of life.
We express our warm thanks to the Municipality of Kalamata and the president of the Kalamata Cultural Center, Mr. Nikitas Karamouzis, for kindly providing the space.
We also thank the Mikromani Women’s Association “Maria Polydouri” and the company “Vryonis Distribution” for their valuable support. Their generous offer of juices, waters and bagels contributed significantly to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
World Kidney Day is an important reminder for all of us about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of kidney diseases. Our kidneys perform vital functions, removing toxins from the body and regulating essential body functions. However, kidney diseases often develop silently, without obvious symptoms, which makes preventive screening even more necessary.
Through this action, we encouraged citizens to incorporate preventive examinations into their daily lives, as early diagnosis can save lives.
This initiative is a practical application of corporate social responsibility, reinforcing the importance of access to free health services for all. With the collaboration of public and private entities, we can contribute to improving the health of the community and offer essential support to those who need it.
