On the occasion of World Kidney Day, on Saturday, March 29, a free preventive kidney function check was successfully held at Agios Ioannou Square in Meligalas. The event, which took place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., gave dozens of citizens the opportunity to undergo tests and be informed about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
Blood tests and examinations were performed by specialized medical personnel at Falireas Medical laboratories, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the results. Kidney diseases often progress without obvious symptoms, which makes regular check-ups essential to prevent serious complications.
As part of prevention and public awareness actions, Falireas Medical Laboratories implemented this initiative in collaboration with the Municipality of Oichalia. Preventive medicine is a cornerstone of public health, and similar actions will continue with the aim of informing and improving the quality of life of citizens.
We express our sincere thanks to the Municipality of Oichalia for providing the space in Agios Nikolaos Square, as well as to the Panagiotis Dorkofikis bakery for the generous offer of snacks, which contributed to creating a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
World Kidney Day reminds us all of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of kidney diseases. The kidneys perform vital functions, removing toxins from the body and regulating basic body functions. However, many kidney diseases develop without warning signs, making preventive screening even more essential.
Through this initiative, we encouraged citizens to incorporate preventive screening into their daily lives, as early diagnosis can prove life-saving.
This action is an example of the application of corporate social responsibility, promoting the importance of free access to health services. The collaboration of public and private entities contributes substantially to improving public health and providing support to those who need it.
